Your Wedding at Cal Lutheran: At a Glance
From your first inquiry to your wedding day, Campus Ministry and Campus Services will accompany you through each step.
1. Submit the Wedding Inquiry Form
Tell us a little about yourselves, your preferred date and location, estimated guest count, and your vision for the ceremony. Submitting the form begins the conversation but does not reserve a date or space. Submit the form
2. Campus Ministry Contact
After submitting the form, Campus Ministry staff will reach out to you to confirm your wedding interest inquiry. Our staff will welcome you, explain the process, and schedule your initial meeting with the Campus Pastor.
3. Meet with the Campus Pastor
Share your story, hopes, values, and traditions. Together, you will explore the character of your ceremony and discuss whether the Campus Pastor or an approved outside clergy person or faith leader will preside.
4. Meet with Campus Services
Review date and space availability, fees, facility requirements, contracts, vendors, technology, accessibility, and other event logistics.
5. Confirm Your Reservation
Your wedding is reserved once the required approvals, agreements, and initial payments are complete. Wait for written confirmation before making nonrefundable commitments to vendors.
6. Prepare for Your Marriage and Ceremony
If the Campus Pastor is presiding, you will participate in wedding and marriage preparation and collaboratively develop the ceremony. If an approved outside presider is leading your wedding, that person will guide your preparation and ceremony planning.
7. Finalize the Details
Work with Campus Services and your presider to confirm the ceremony order, guest count, vendors, music, decorations, photography, technology, accessibility needs, and wedding-day schedule.
8. Obtain Your Marriage License
You are responsible for obtaining a valid California marriage license. Bring it to the rehearsal or provide it to your presider before the wedding.
9. Attend the Rehearsal
A rehearsal is required for all weddings. Your presider will guide the wedding party through the processional, ceremony movements, special traditions, and recessional.
10. Celebrate Your Wedding
Gather with your community, make your promises, and celebrate the beginning of your marriage at Cal Lutheran.
